"Art is a way to get yourself into a whole new space; painting is the only way to escape without stepping out of the house."

I am a figurative landscape painter. The main media of my painting is oil paint. I love both oil painting as a form of artwork and as a form of activity. I choose oil paint as my main media as I am a slow painter. I am obsessed with the liquidity of the oil and paint flowing on the surface. My current painting is exploring nature, in term of paradise and investigating the beauty and mysteries of mushrooms.

In the series of my practice, most of my paintings are based on nature. For the background of my paintings, it is a landscape, most of the photography taken by myself. But since the lack of ideas and access to the natural environment, I started to do research on fantasy landscapes, especially for digital art. Then I will add elements with mysterious and fantasy theme to the base.

Throughout my artwork, I would like to depict the colourful nature. I am recently working on mushrooms. They have the most amazing colours, almost psychedelic. They are the iconic symbol of fantasy creatures. I tried psychedelic art, "The Glow of the Other World", with a fluorescent colour scheme. Furthermore, I love amending the natural colours to a slightly unreal and dreamlike colour, to make the whole atmosphere even more strange. 

Working on my paintings, I got my main influences from watching movies, like Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Princess Mononoke and reading literature, such as The Chronicles of Narnia and the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The main reference artists are Hayao Miyazaki, Dylan Cole, Karin Mamma Andersson, Ryū Murakami and Paul Bril.
